In laboratorio gli esperti hanno preparato un infuso con ogni tipo di tè, seguendo sempre lo stesso metodo, e poi ne hanno analizzato il contenuto medio di fluoro. Hanno così scoperto che la quantità media di questa sostanza in ogni tazza andava da 0,72 a 1,68 milligrammi e a essere più ricco di fluoro è il tè nero, soprattutto delle marche più economiche, e il deteinato. Questi prodotti, spiegano gli esperti, sono realizzati con foglie di tè più adulto rispetto ai prodotti più costosi e, per questo contengono più fluoro. La quantità di fluoro raccomandata per un adulto è di circa 5 milligrammi al giorno. Bastano quattro tazze di tè nero, concludono gli studiosi per assicurarsi quanto serve per la salute.
