Introduzione

Cos’è il prasterone Dhea?
Il prasterone, noto anche come deidroepiandrosterone (Dhea), è un precursore ormonale prodotto dalle ghiandole surrenali. Alcuni lo chiamano ormone della giovinezza, perché la sua produzione è massima tra i 20 e i 30 anni, poi comincia a calare (più gradualmente nell’uomo che nella donna), fino a ridursi al 10% dopo i 70-80 anni. Applicando il principio attivo prasterone nell’area vulvo-vaginale, esso viene convertito, in quanto loro precursore, in estrogeni e androgeni. Questa emissione di ormoni avviene solo a livello locale nelle cellule della zona, senza causare un aumento significativo di estrogeni e androgeni circolanti.
Quali sono i vantaggi?
Non venendo messo in circolo ormoni, può essere assunto anche dalle donne che hanno avuto hanno patologie tumorali del seno di altri organi dell’apparato riproduttivo oppure che hanno familiari con queste patologie.
Come agisce?
Gli estrogeni e gli androgeni che si vanno a produrre sono in grado di aumentare quantità intensità delle fibre elastiche della mucosa vaginale, proteggere le terminazioni nervose, incrementare la lubrificazione. In pratica spariscono le condizioni che generano dolore e rendono difficoltosa la penetrazione. La coppia può tornare alla sua intesa sessuale, la donna ritrova il piacere. Sono stati osservati infatti effetti positivi anche sul desiderio sessuale, l’eccitazione e l’orgasmo, in quanto il prasterone, emettendo oltre agli estrogeni anche gli androgeni, determina un buon trofismo e una maggiore vascolarizzazione del clitoride, particolarmente sensibile a questo tipo di ormoni.
