Smettere di fumare… i motivi che ancora non conoscevi
Solo in Italia il fumo fa70 mila vittime all’anno, eppure i motivi per smettere di fumare o per non cominciare affatto sono numerosi. Lesostanze chimichepresenti in una sola sigaretta sono oltre4 mila e almeno 40sono classificate comealtamente cancerogene: più o meno tutti, infatti, sanno il ruolo importante che il fumo ha nel determinare numeroseforme tumorali, anche “insospettabili”, come quello dellavescica(è lì, infatti che le sostanze assimilate fumando restano più lungo in attesa di essere espulse con l’urina). Ma fumatori e non, spesso ignorano altri e numerosi validi motivi per dire no alle bionde.
Non è tutta colpa della nicotina
Dandocorrette informazioni circa i pericoli delle sigarettepossiamo auspicare di aumentare la consapevolezza e favorire una scelta più meditata, basata su dati certi e non su opinioni personali e luoghi comuni a cominciare propriodalla composizione dellesigarette. Chi è più attento all’ estetica ormai comincia a rendersene conto:fumare stravolge l’ estetica del viso. Ma c’è di più:gli uominiche accendono più di20 sigarette al giorno,infatti, hanno unrischio del 60% superiore di disfunzione erettilerispetto a coloro che non fumano. E i flop a letto possono, loro volta far fallire certi unioni.
3)Senti di più il dolore
Il fumo fa male, nel senso letterale del termine: secondo una ricerca americana,fibromialgia, sciatica e dolore cronico a schiena e collo si presentano più facilmente nelle donne fumatrici.Un altro studio ha sottolineato come il vizio del fumo determini dolori più intensi e maggiore difficoltà nei movimenti. Eppure, tanti credono che lanicotina abbia un effetto antidolorifico,cheè reale,madura pochissimi minuti.Nell’artrosiil fumo favorisce la comparsa precoce didegenerazione e dolore,perché le scorie delle sostanze presenti nella sigaretta tendono adaccumularsi nelle cartilagini.
In caso di intervento chirurgico, chi fuma di più è più esposta aldolore postoperatorio:il tabagismo allunga i tempi di recupero di cicatrizzazione, perché altera iprocessi di coagulazione, ostacola l’azione del sistema di difesacontro le infezionie rallenta il processo di crescita delle nuove cellule dei tessuti. Infine, le donne fumatrici hanno cicli mestruali anche del 50% più dolorosi.
4) Sei attaccabile dai germi
Le sigarette sono una fonte incredibile digermi vivi e pericolosi: ricercatori statunitensi ne hanno riscontrati oltre
700 tipidiversi. Arrivano dalle foglie di tabacco fresche e si moltiplicano durante la preparazione della sigaretta. Certo, le sigarette poi bruciano ma basta tenerneunaspenta in boccaper esporsi ad un altorischioinfettivosenza dimenticare che il fumo danneggia lamucosadellabocca,alterandola anche in assenza di segni visibili, causa un calo della secrezione della saliva, rende meno attive le cellule di difesa eparalizza le cigliachericoprono levierespiratorie, diminuendo la prima barriera difensiva contro virus ebatteri.
5)Capelli in caduta ..precoce

( Cina) ha confermato che ilfumo di sigaretta provoca una precocecaduta dei capelli soprattutto nell’uomo. Colpa dell’alterazione dellamicrocircolazionea livello del cuoio
capelluto causata dal fumo, che determina anche una modifica
della flora batterica locale, aumentando il rischio di
infiammazionedei follicoli piliferi.
6)Intossichi anche i tuoi animali
Quando si fuma al chiusonon basta aprire le finestre: irifiuti tossicisi depositano su ogni superficie, dove permangono per settimane e mesi e, anche attraverso ilsemplice contattopossono contaminare altri frequentatori, compresi ibambini e gli animalidomestici. È il cosiddetto “fumo di terza mano”,così ribattezzato da scienziati americani, e ignorato da tantissimi fumatori, che magari fumano in auto, oppure in casa quando non ci sono i familiari, pensando così erroneamente di risparmiare loro il fumo passivo.
