Bulimia: cause,sintomi,trattamento
La bulimia nervosaè un disturbo del comportamento alimentare ( DCA), “boùlimos” dal greco “fame da bue”.
I disturbi del comportamento alimentare, sono di solito diorigine psicologica( escluse cause organiche) e i soggetti che ne sono affetti vivono la propria quotidianità in funzionedel cibo e del peso corporeo,fino a farlo diventare una vera e propria ossessione.
La persona affetta da bulimia di solito si lascia andare a delle vereabbuffate, ingurgita cibo in quantità eccessiva per poi trovare il modo per non metabolizzarlo, ricorrendo a sistemi diversi di espulsione del cibo ingerito,vomito autoindotto,uso di lassativi, il tutto per non prendere peso, non ingrassare.
L’abbuffata avviene di nascosto, l’assunzione dei cibi è senza controllo ,il soggetto bulimico mangiafino al limite massimo possibile,fino a stare male.
Subito dopo il senso di colpa induce il soggetto a ricorrere ai rimedi sopracitati per neutralizzare “l’abbuffata”, eliminare gli effetti prima che il cibo si trasformi in grasso.
Il vomitoviene provocato meccanicamentecon le dita alla gola( altri oggetti), nel corso degli anni quando il disturbo si è radicato si è in grado divomitare a comando.
L’uso dei lassativirappresenta un altro sistema per eliminare il cibo ingerito durante “l’abbuffata , è un sistema al quale ricorre un terzo dei soggetti affetti da bulimia.
Digiuni forzatie lunghi devono anche porre rimedio all’ingestione di cibi senza controllo.
Si può riconoscere un soggetto che pratica regolarmente il vomito auotoindotto dallacallosità sulle manie dalleabrasionidovute all’azione degli incisivi durante le ripetute volte in cui si usano le mani per provocare il vomito, dallosfaldamento delle unghiedovuto all’effetto deteriorante delph gastrico,danni ai denti, alle gengive, alle lingua dovuti all’effettocorrosivo dei succhi gastrici.
Il vomito può dare luogo adalterazioni metabolichericonducibili alla perdita di cloro e liquidi con conseguente modificazioni dell’omeostasi elettrolitica.
Gli effetti sulla salute possono essere devastanti.
Cause
La bulimia colpisce le donne nella misura del 90%, come accade nell’anoressia.
Le cause possono essere riconducibili ad una molteplicità di fattori, tra cui quelli legati alla genetica , socioculturali e psicologici.
L’importanza eccessiva al peso, alla forma del corpo e il controllo dell’alimentazione ,rappresenta uno dei fattori principali nei disturbi dell”alimentazione.
Il corpo rappresenta un’identità ed è il tramite dei nostri rapporti con gli altri ,il corpo viene strumentalizzato per esprimere i propri bisogni, un modo percomunicare il disagio più profondo.
Bassa autostima: chi ha bassa autostima habassa fiducia in se stessoe nel mondo, una ricerca continua delconsenso degli altri,scarso spirito di iniziativa, mancanza di un progetto, è un soggetto vulnerabile e soffre di disturbi ansiosi.
Le diete ipocaloriche, quelle spesso pubblicizzate come miracolose per avere un corpo perfetto, a causa dei loro effetti nocivi, possono innescare pericolosi meccanismi in tema di disturbi dell’alimentazione.
Fattori predisponenti legati a problemi familiari, affettivi, di lavoro, eventi stressanti, traumi emotivi.
