Contiene il 95% di acqua, previene la disidratazione, e nei periodi caldi, quando c’è maggiore sudorazione e si perdono sali minerali, può essere utilizzato come uno spuntino frequente durante la giornata. Agisce sul bruciore di stomaco e reflusso. Contiene inoltre molte vitamine importanti come la vitamina k (la vitamina che facilita la coagulazione del sangue), la vitamina C e anche una discreta quantità di vitamina A, vitamine importanti per il potenziamento del sistema immunitario, per il benessere delle mucose, della pelle e della vista. E’ fortemente antiossidante, quindi assume un ruolo fondamentale anche nella prevenzione di determinate malattia; inoltre contiene potassio, sale minerale benefico per il cuore.
Controindicazioni
Il sedano oltre a tutte le benefiche proprietà elencate presenta delle controindicazioni. Si sconsiglia l’uso alle persone affette da malattia renali. Sconsigliato alle donne in gravidanza; inoltre può provocare reazioni allergiche nei soggetti predisposti.
