Che cos’è il sistema immunitario?

–Enzimi digestivi: gli enzimi presentati nel tratto gastrointestinale aiutano a distruggere i microrganismoi dannosi in modo da non essere assorbito dall’intestino tenue.
–Peptidi antimicrobici:queste sostanze naturalmente presentate nel nostro corpo hanno proprietà antimicrobiche che possono eliminare o limitare la crescita dei microrganismoi indesiderati.

I linfociti T e B sono fondamentali per il meccanismo di risposta dell’immunità specifica o adattativa.
I linfociti B:
– Sono responsabili dellaproduzione degli anticorpi(immunoglobuline) che riconoscono in modo specifico gli antigeni presenti sugli agenti patogenici.

I linfociti T:
– Possono essere suddivisi in due principali sottotipi:le cellule T helper CD4+e lecellule T citotossiche CD8+.
–Le cellule T helper coordinano la risposta immune. Riconoscono gli antigeni presentati sulle cellule infettate dal complesso maggiore di istocompatibilità (MHC) classe II e forniscono segnali alle altre cellule immunitarie come i linfociti B per potenziare la produzione di anticorpi e ai macrofagi per promuovere una risposta fagocitica più efficace.
